Most non-enthusiasts give car people wash kits, terrible steering wheel covers, “Miata parking only” plaques, etc. Color coded, ball end hex keys? Didn’t know I needed those, but they’ve been surprisingly handy.

Kinja'd!!!

Different friend, a week later: “hey, what size for the steering wheel hub screws?”

Me: “yellow”

Friend: “...why are you like this. I thought you wanted help”

Me: “no, really! Look”

Friend: “right. Uhm. I’m going to get started fixing the battery tray, you can do the dashboard removal”

Me: *sigh*

Agreed. I may or may not have spent twenty minutes looking for color-coded flex-head ratcheting wrenchs online.

I was wondering the same thing. They let you tighten/loosen things at an angle, which I could see being helpful in some tight places. Looks like they work at about 20° + or - from center! Neat

I’d like a glow-in-the-dark, flashing 10mm socket with a tracking beacon that emits a high-pitched shriek every 30 seconds.

The rest of them can be standard chrome

Well Harbor Freight...

Yeah I get a set of the 1/2" metric standard ones. Come in handy for small stuff. I wouldn’t put a breaker bar on them though.

I LOVE color-coded tools, but it would drive me crazy if I had different tool sets that used different colors for the same fastener sizes. I need all my 8mm stuff to be green, and all my 10mm stuff to be purple, etc.

This also needs to be on that one 13mm socket (the only one which will fit that one bolt that always needs taken out, and all your other 1/2" & 13mm don’t work to reach/fit on it right, but for some reason is never in it’s space.)

Color coded tools are so underrated! I don’t know why all socket sets, drill bits, etc aren’t made that way. It just makes so much sense. Manufacturers could even standardize the colors, that would be life changing.

Park is professional grade. Rainbow looks good who knows how accurate the castings are. My buddy at the bike shop got some flashy wrenchs and they are very sloppy.

Heads up they make color coded screwdrivers and t-handle hex keys too. We have some at work. Another thing that can be worth doing is rattle can spray painting all of your SAE sockets orange to tell them apart from the metric ones. A quick and dirty way to color code existing tools and sockets is 3M Scotchcode. I use it for all sorts of labeling, but be advised the color rubs off of the tape fairly easily.
